About Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass

Meghan Trainor is a young 20 year old songwriter and singer from Cape Cod in Massachusetts. She is in the dance-pop, R&B and pop genres of music. Interestingly, both of Meghan’s parents were into music. Growing up in a music family from an early age, it’s not surprising that she went into music early on as well. She first started to write songs when she was just about 11 years of age. At the age of 13, Meghan’s parents purchased an Apple Macintosh computer for her, so that she could produce high quality songs. She took to it, and by the age of 15 years, Meghan was using the Apple’s Logic Pro Digital Audio Workstation. Her parents then built a recording studio so that Meghan could become a professional musician. It must be said that she hasn’t missed out on this.

Trainor has come out with just one single – “All About That Bass”. She has written and produced it herself. And it’s become a huge hit since the release. This non-album single has reached #84 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and #82 on the Canadian Hot 100 list. We are sure that prompted by its success, Meghan is surely going to come out with her debut album soon enough. And of course, All About That Bass is going to feature prominently in this. In fact right now, she is already working on some other songs she has composed and sung that can go into this debut album. And going by her track record, that album is almost certain to be a success as well.

She has released a music video of this track too. The tune of this track is a celebration of men and women of all shapes and sizes. The tune is extremely catchy. She says that she doesn’t want to be a “stick figure silicon Barbie doll”. “Sh*t ain’t real, come on now, make it stop”, Meghan’s lyrics says. And goes on to add that it’s important to move on if you are like this. With this song, Trainor hopes to break the fascination with thinness. That’s certainly a frank acceptance. It’s a positive message that many can do with.

Meghan has said in the past that she wrote this song because she herself has struggled with the concept of self-acceptance. Meghan says that she was sure that the track would be accepted because a lot of people can relate to this theme. The experts are also agreeing with her. They are saying that All About That Bass is going to get stuck on your head once you hear this track. It could very well emerge as a leading strong of this summer.

The music video was published on June 11th 2014. Meghan has worked with choreographer and director Fatima Robinson and Vine superstar Sione Maraschino to produce this video. Within just six weeks it has been viewed more than 3.2 million times on YouTube. Almost 65.000 people have Liked it.
