About Jeremih – Don’t Tell ‘Em
Jeremih Felton is a singer, songwriter and producer from Chicago, Illinois, US. He performs under the mononym Jeremih. This American artist is signed to Def Jam Recordings. Music came naturally to Jeremih, and that too from an early age. He was playing instruments when he was just three years of age. He can now play many instruments like the piano, saxophone, timbales, comgas and drums, and interestingly, Jeremih has learned them all by himself. He was a part of the Latin jazz band and marching band at school. But Jeremih began to take his music seriously only after his tribute to Ray Charles was praised at college. Music became his priority, though he was studying engineering.
Jeremih has come out with two studio albums. He released a self-titled album in 2009. This was followed by “All About You” in 2010. His third album, “Thumpy Johnson” is slated to be released on September 16th 2014. Jeremih is at this time among the most adventurous voices of R&B.
“Don’t Tell ‘Em” is a brand new single from Jeremih. This song has been written by Mick Schultz and Jeremih. Mick Schultz & DJ Mustard has produced it. The track features an interpolation of Snap!’s “Rhythm Is a Dancer”. Featuring YG!, it’s going to be a part of his latest album, and he is very excited about it. In fact, Jeremih has said more than once that he expects the track to become more popular than his debut single “Birthday Sex” that peaked at #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 list. It was a part of his first album and was a key reason why more than 59,000 copies were sold in the US. So Jeremih certainly expects Don’t Tell’ Em to rock the charts as well.
Don’t Tell ‘Em has been created around the concept of throwback Snap! that caters to the sultry mass appeal of this Chicago singer. It is supported by the right verse from YG, who is a rising star from the West Coast. It’s a great single that’s sure to leave you sweating through the summer. The track is closer to current wave of DJ Mustard-helmed R&B than those dark Late Night sounds. It’s actually Jeremih who makes it versatile with his work.
Don’t Tell’ Em has been released across the world by Def Jam Recordings. And its performance has been close to amazing since the track was released. It has featured at #45 on ARIA Australia, at #93 on Belgium Ultratip Flanders, at #24 on Belgium Urban Ultratop Flanders, #1 on the Germany Deutsche Black Charts, at #94 on Germany Media Control Charts, #71 on the US Billboard Hot 100 list, #20 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list, and at #15 on the US Rhythmic Billboard chart.
Its four minute and sixteen second music video was uploaded to YouTube on June 27th 2014. The video has been viewed close to two million times in less than a month. There are more than a thousand comments, and more than 13,000 Likes.
