Glen Campbell is among the tallest names in country music ever. In fact, Glen is nothing short of an icon. He is a singer, television host, occasional actor and guitarist who have been active on the music scene since 1958. Glen plays bagpipes, banjo, bass, and the guitar, but is best known for his rich country voice. He has been associated with gospel, folk rock, folk, pop, rock and country.

In a career close to six decades, Campbell has released a total of 54 studio albums, several of which have been certified Platinum, like Gentle on My Mind, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, and Galveston. Wichita Lineman was double platinum. He has continued singing to this day, but most of Glen’s big hits came during the 1960s and 1970s. In fact, he made history in 1967 by winning as many as four Grammys. Of course, he has won plenty of other awards and nominations in a long music career. The list of awards is a long one – Academy of Country Music, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, GMA Dove Awards, and many more. In fact, he has received nominations and awards from each of these awards on several occasions.

Glen has also released six live albums, and more than 100 compilation albums. In total, he has sold more than 45 million records. Nine of his singles have reached the top position in charts. Glen Campbell was included in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

So what can you say when such a tall figure retires, says he won’t sing again, obviously because of his Alzheimer’s and age. Glen will be 79 in April 2015.

“I’m Not Gonna Miss You” is his last swansong. Those who love country music will understand that it’s kind of emotional to think that this is going to be Glen’s last song. It was released on September 30th 2014. The song has been written by Glen himself specifically for this occasion. Julian Raymond has produced the track. It was recorded at Los Angeles in January 2013.

I’m Not Gonna Miss You has been included in the new documentary “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me”. The documentary was released on October 24th 2014.
