About Enrique Iglesias – Bailando

Enrique Iglesias or Enrique Miguel Iglesias, is a highly rated singer, songwriter, record producer and actor from Madrid in Spain. He comes from the following genres – soft rock, electropop, adult contemporary, dance-pop, Latin pop and Latin rock. Enrique plays the guitar too. He is often referred to as the “King of Latin Pop”. Active since 1994, his work has been released through Interscope, Republic, UMG Recordings, and Fonovisa.

Interestingly, Enrique is the son of another Lation pop and dance pop music stalwart – Julio Iglesias. Sony Music Entertainment has said that Julio is the best selling Latin music artist in history, and also ranks among the world’s best-selling all time artists. The son is not far behind. Enrique, with more than 100 million records sales worldwide, ranks as the second best selling Latin artist of all time, just after his father. Enrique holds the record for coming out with 25 number-one Spanish singles on Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. He has released five Billboard Hot 100 top five singles. He has given us 70 plus #1 rankings on many different Billboard charts, which is a unique achievement.

Enrique Iglesias has released ten studio albums. Four of them are in Spanish, four in English, and two are bilingual. These albums are the self-titled “Enrique Iglesias” of 1995, “Vivir” of 1997, “Cosas Del Amor” of 1998, “Quizás” of 2002, “Enrique” of 1999, “Escape” of 2001, “7” of 2003, “Insomniac” of 2007, “Euphoria” of 2010, and “Sex and Love” of March 2014. Iglesias has released six compilation albums and a staggering 76 music videos.

“Bailando” is a song by Enrique Iglesias. It’s a part of his latest bilingual album “Sex and Love”. It’s the third track in this album. The song was released on March 28th 2014 for digital download through Republic. Recorded in 2013, this Latin pop and dance pop song runs for a total of four minutes and three seconds. Enrique Iglesias has co-written this one with Randy Malcom Martinez, Alexander Delgado, and Descemer Bueno. It has been produced by Carlos Paucar. The track also features Descemer Bueno, Gente de Zona, and Sean Paul.

Interestingly, there are four versions of this song. Spanish is the original version. There is also a Spanglish, and as many as two Portuguese versions, one of which is for Brazil, while the other is for the Portugal market. There are certain distinct features in each of these versions. Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno features in the original Spanish version of Bailando. It was Gente de Zona who was the original recording artist of this song. He did not like it initially, but went on to record it. Eventually however he loved the output. It’s one of my favorites, he says.

There are two versions of the music video of this song as well. One of them is in Spanish, while the other is in Spanglish. Both these versions were filmed in Santo Domingo.

Bailando has emerged as a huge commercial hit, like so many other Enrique Iglesias tracks.
